The Honourable Dwight Duncan, Minister
of Finance and Chair of Management Board/Treasury Board of Cabinet
Dwight Duncan was first elected to the Ontario legislature in 1995,
and was re-elected in 1999, 2003 and 2007. Duncan has also served as
Minister of Revenue, Minister of Energy and Chair of Cabinet and
Government House Leader. As Minister of Energy, Duncan brought
meaningful change to Ontario’s electricity sector, fostering a
culture of conservation, while ensuring a reliable, sustainable,
diverse and affordable power supply. As Minister of Finance, he is
responsible for the LCBO, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming
Corporation, and the Racing Commission.
Duncan is a lifelong resident of Windsor. From 1987 to 1995, Duncan
served as an administrator at Brentwood Recovery Centre, Canada’s
largest alcohol and drug recovery centre. He sat on Windsor City
Council from 1988 to 1994.
A graduate of McGill University and the University of Windsor,
Duncan has degrees in economics and commerce, as well as a MBA. He
has one son, Sean.
